Our staff are a dedicated team of people, all of whom are mothers themselves. They all have Pre-School Learning Allicance qualifications, or other equivalent early years training.
Rose Dick – Acting Playleader & SENCO
Rose is married with two adult children and four grandchildren. She studied Childcare at college, has a PPA Diploma and worked in a nursery before having her own children. Rose has worked at Seend Playgroup since 1998 and is now both Deputy Playleader and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator). Her SENCO training is on-going and she has had recent training in First Aid and Child Protection. Rose runs a BLAST language group in Playgroup plus other small language and social skills groups as and when required; she believes that communication and social skills are very important in Early Years education.
Rose has stepped up as Acting Playleader following Liz Futter’s retirement in July 2017.
Nicky Haines – Play Assistant
Nicky Haines is married with two children and two grandchildren. She has been working as a Play Assistant at Seend Playgroup since 2000 but started a year before, helping with the cooking whilst her youngest daughter was still attending Playgroup. Nicky has her NVQ2 qualification in Early Years, and is trained in both First Aid and Child Protection.
Sue Taylor – Play Assistant & Administrative Officer
Sue is married with one son. She has been working at Seend Playgroup since 1998, initially as a one-to-one assistant and subsequently as a Play Assistant and Key Worker. She has also now taken on the Administrative Officer’s role. Sue holds the NNEB diploma from the Chiltern Nursery Training College and has worked in childrens’ homes, nurseries and as a nanny. When she is not at Seend Playgroup, she works as Church Administrator for Seend, Bulkington and Poulshot churches (so if you are looking to organise a christening or a wedding, Sue can point you in the right direction!)
Liz Futter – Volunteer
Liz Futter is married with three adult children and three grand children. She was the Playleader at Seend Playgroup since 1987 – 2017. She is a qualified teacher. Her more recent training includes Child Protection, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Leading the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Liz has recently retired in 2017, but will still be popping into Playgroup for some cooking sessions and reading to the children.
We are a registered charity run by a Committee of volunteers, consisting largely of parents of children attending Seend Playgroup plus some staff members. The Committee work together with our staff to ensure the smooth running of the Playgroup. Read more about our current committee here.
